Judge Takes Kyle Busch' Drivers License
Sure, we all have sped. I have slowed down after getting two tickets in a year. Now I set the cruise at 5 mph over and just putt along. If not, my license would get suspended also. That is the difference. Eventually you get caught. The more you do it, the more likely you are to get caught. Most police won't bother you for 5 over, but push 10 -15 and then they may pull you over. BUT DO 83 MPH OVER, THEN THEY WILL DEFINATELY COME AFTER YOU. That is the difference between the "average Joe" and what Kyle did. How many times did Kyle do this before getting caught? He gets to do that legally on the track every weekend! Us regular guys don't get the opportunity to do over 100 and not be able to get a ticket. The least he could do is wait until he can do it legally on the track every weekend if he has the urge to do it and not put the public at risk.
The braking distance goes up exponentially with speed, not linearly. The momentum equation is momentum = mass X velocity squared. Velocity being speed. So at 80 MPH you are 6400 X mass for momentum. For 100 MPH, you are 10, 000 times your mass for momentum. For 120 MPH, you are 14, 400 times your mass for momentum - over twice the momentum of 80 MPH and only a 40 MPH increase. This increases your braking distance significantly and also your ability to stop and control your vehicle.
He got caught doing that, and that is why it is so bad. Statistics would say he did this many times before and got away with it before he got caught. For all of those out there that say "I did it also and didn't get caught". How many times have you done it, one or two? Just keep doing it and see what happens when you do get caught... Then you can be like Kurt.
