So where can I find the rules about what equipment is needed

Yup. If you start running fast enough without safety equipment they will pull the plug on you.

They can also do this for sound (if your track has a sound limit).

My car was kicked from Woodburn Or. because it went too fast without a roll bar.

It was kicked from PIR (Portland Or.) for sound........ And this was with a TTI, 2.5", x-pipe system. Ultraflows, tailpipes and original 340 manifolds.


So your choices are to put in the equipment or build to a level that doesn't need it.
