Post your "medium" built small blocks combos

Well, I might as well enter two of my (realitivley) budget street builds. There simple enuff and won't break the bank.

Dead stock '79 - 318, remove the junk.... add

600 cfm Carter AFB
LD4B Edelbrock intake
Crane cam's 216/228-.454/.480-112 cam
Hooker comp headers connected to a Jegs 2-1/2 exhaust
MP distrib and orange box (Yea, it work!)
In a '74 Duster w/a stock 904 and a 3.21 sure grip on 225/70/14's, it was a high 14 second car. Never got to tune it up well. Best run was a cold Oct. day which ram 15.14 @ (IIRC) 89 mph.

Nice for bolt on's and a cam. The above combo could use more compression. (Head mill or slug change?) Larger valves would have been nice (AKA 360 valves) and some more converter since the one I was useing was a stock lock up for '79.

360
zero deck KB 107 slugs @ 030 over.
Edel RPM heads, intake and 750 AFB
Hooker Super Comp headers into a 2-1/2 exhaust
4spd/4.10's

(From here, use the cam of your choice on a build like this to fit the needs of your build/car performance. Below is a few cams I used.)
1st cam was a 292/.509 purple. Low 12's OOTB
2nd cam, a 288/.499 used with Rhodes lifters. No time, noticed alot of torque gained down low. Much more enjoyable to drive.
3rd cam yet un-tested, a solid comp cam 296/.525-110
So far, I have only driven around the area to see how it reacts. So far, so good, very nice and streetable. Not a nasty pig.
(I also want to get 1.6 rockers for this cam and try for 11's.)
