Thermoquad question

Sounds like you have a newer lean burn carb. Are those wires hooked to a solenoid on the back of the carb top? If so it's a bowl vent to keep the fumes from escaping into the atmosphere while the engine isn't running. So that needs to be hot and ground with the key on.

Having said that I don't think that leanburn carb is going to work for you.

Secondly it probably doesn't have a vacuum port for the vacuum advance. Leanburn cars had all the advance dialed in with base timing (distributor advance was locked and was set at about 60 degrees BTDC) and the computer just retarded it as needed.
