What motor to go with?

I know lots of guys racing 904s but they are puting tons of money in them to make them hold up. Why bother wasting money to tuffen up a 904 if he is going to already have a 727. Spend the money on your motor. I can smoke a siock 904 in my Duster in about 20 min. Got sick of laying under it. If 904s are so nice how come they never put them behind a big block?

You can run mid 11's for years with a 904 that has no exotic parts in it and not have tons of money in it either. Quality parts yes .. put together but someone that knows what they are doing ... yes. But big dollars not necessarily. I bane a guy that will build one in the $600 range that I've seen go over 1000 mid 11 sec runs and god knows how many street miles before he took it out for the hell of it to freshmen up. My 904 has been in my car since 06 and has had the ever living **** beat out of it for thousands of street miles and numerous low 12 second runs at the track. Nothing special or expensive in mine either. It's a $600 trans.
