Ha ha! I just had to give you a hard time. Sorry...LOL.
You will absolutely love the stroker on the street. Especially with the 3.55 gear. I don't know a single person that's went to a stroke sb that would rather have a 340 or 360 on the street.
I'm glad I got no stroker on the street. Rpm rules far as I care, nothing like a screaming engine--just like those M6 BMW with under a 3 inch stroke crank. 8,500 rpm those engine scream. Lightening fast take offs thanks to some type of traction computer control deal those cars have. Once moving thou, a hot 340 can hang with them--don't ask how i know.
I guess if I had an 8 inch converter over the 10 inch I got now and 4.56 gears vs 3.91's, it could take off from a dead stop as quick-if not quicker than an M6...true true, after 110, it be good bye M6, I think those cars are good for 150 or so..but its got OD, not fair !
That is the whole deal, RPM's. the 340 need rev's. Too many folks don't want to scream their engines out. People want 3.55 gears and then wounder why its not as quick. Car Life in 1970 posted that 4.10 gears are the best compromise on the street, that 4.56--4.88 are a little too much, lol.....guess that meant people were really running those short gears on the street but then Chevy's 327 with a 3.25 stroke was good for 8,000 rpm with a bit of prep.
