Yeah sometimes it smokes like an 1880's steam locomotive! Sometimes it only smokes a little.

On my 73, I thought I had the same setup, with a shock absorber. What I have are just regular bumper brackets that bolt to the frame, that just make the bumper stick out further. I pulled the bumper off today and I am going to slot the attachment holes or relocate them so I can move the bumper inward.
Lucky you, are the pics of your bumper project somewhere else on FABO?

LOL that's what I call working with whatcha got at it's finest! If ya paint it the original color tho, that keeps your options open of everything still being the same color (jambs, underhood, trunk). If ya had to peddle it, you wouldn't have to do anything. But if you know you will be keeping it, then do what you want!

I have learned the hard way. A 4 door will sell at $2500.00 nice daily driver little rust to show 4 Door with no rust, no matter /6 or 318, custom or stock. Door jambs painted or not. A clean 4door with custom paint non stock color? Same price but will sell alot faster. The gold I'm choosing has a tint very close to Fawn Crap Y4. Both ABB and I absolutly HATE that color!!!
The Y6 Gold Irid. will tone down after shooting. The last 2 coats I will be mixing small amounts of gold micro flakes. It will look like a metalic Fawn with a golden glow (Neon Like) as a base. When turning a corner in sun it will flicker like a ranger bass boat! LOL...When ya get right on it even in the sun 6 feet or less away, you will only see a scattering of flake sparkling from sun but you will not be able to see as many standing there as when the car is going past you in motion. Standing there it will be a sparkle here and there with a warm gold glow from underneath.
Then in summer, wet sand roof/sailpanels, top of hood and trunk. Then shoot eggshell W1 oversprayed over tropical leaves from plants, flower cut outs resembeling Hawaii flowers. It will be white with golden tropical surf theme showing through the eggshell. The 1st coat clear with gold micro mixed in on top of entire car white and all. Then 2 more clear only dumped into gun with micro still in gun on 1st one. Then clean gun. Then 2nd coat clear only.
