Anyone Ever Had a Car Sold Out From Under You?

I told a 'friend' if he ever wanted to sell his Valiant to call me first. We even talked about a price. I bugged him off and on for at least two years. I found out he sold it for about 2/3 of what I offered. I guess he didn't think I was serious, or didn't think I had the money.
