741 rebuilt differentials $75

Scored these from a closed rear end shop. Old a$$ rebuilds sitting on a shelf for 30+ years! I got 3 741 style 8 3/4 3rd members. 2 are 741 and the 3rd is a 657 (1-3/8" small stem pinion Carrier casting numbers: 1820657 (1957-1964), 2070741 (1964-1972)), same pinion size but the side gears are huge 3.5 inch as opposed to the 3 inch 741's) The gears in the 741 cases are 2.93 and 3.31, the 657 has 2.93 gears, still covered in "red lead" rust preventive coating from the rebuilder. The pinion preload is good, they all turn smoothly with preload drag and were rebuilt with either new bearings or serviceable ones eons ago (as noticed from 3 other in the same lot, 2 1941 Dodge (sold) and a parted out O/D Packard!!) They are all set up, the backlash is correct as far as I can measure, pattern is not evident as the red lead sort of flakes off instead of showing a footprint. They are all in the same condition, dusty old stock, would probably require a trip to the non corrosive hot tank or a steam cleaner.$75 bucks a piece. your choice. Shipping is possible (at least $50) but local So.Cal or Fall fling pick up/delivery is prefered. I will run the one that doesnt sell minus the spiders which will be parted as I have a SG that ill use. Hope someone can use any of these. If they dont sell, Ill just stash them in the attic for another 30 years.

657 side gears and carrier is larger, NOT SG.
