I would look all along the frame rails. The D series PU's had them there but yours is unibody so they may not have stamped them. Did you get a VIN with the paperwork that came with the vehicle? In most states, you can have a new VIN plate installed by a governmental agency. Here in CA, the CHP does this. They usually use the old VIN if it's known and can be verified. If not, they'll assign a new one if they determine that it's not stolen and you have clear title.
