Charging system voltage high

Well after looking through the wiring more I might have found the problem. The issue I am running into is the wiring was able to pass voltage fine but could not have handle high amps with a repair like this. All wiring even lit a halogen headlight headlight bulb good. I just stumbled on this while doing the amp meter bypass in the madelectrical instructions. The car is not back together yet so I cant say for sure this was causing it but it could not have helped anything. Previous owner had this taped in harness very well.
