I took your "sleeper" advice and modified the bracket to fit under the dash pad. Looks 100% better and looks very clean. I can still reach the cig lighter and the ashtray with no problem. The wires for the tach actually thread right behind the dash cluster. It is actually very stiff as well and should not bounce around too much. If I have problems with it being flimsy I'll temper the metal. Thanks again for the tip.
