Blasting.../ Trim Removal
I did my engine compartment, at 1st tried using a 40# abrasive blaster with walnut shells for the media - my air compressor wasn't big enough so abandoned that - very
messy also(you need to box in the area so can sweep up and reuse shells.) Then
tried the aircraft paint remover - messy and wasn't working that well. Then tried the
paint remover wheel with my 4 1/2" grinder - worked but went through the pad quickly.
then bought a 3" twisted wire cup brush from Harbor Freight for 5.99 and it works the
balls - just make sure you wear safety glasses. They sell the same cup brush at Lowe's
with the DeWalt label for 14.99. I used 2 wheels for stripping my engine compartment
down to bare metal.
