All the recommendations in the world won't help if we don't know what type of cam is being used for the original engine as well as in the examples provided!

Adjustable rockers with solid lifters will need pushrods about 1/4" (.250") longer than adjustable rockers with hydraulic lifters. Roller lifters may be different also, but I never messed with them.
