For a DD, 15" w/ 60 series tires as a minimum.
225/60 R 16 are on 2 of my cars and work well, nice ride and control
235/60 R 17 on family SUV
max I've seen on an old Mopar that look good (not like a rubber band stretched over some metal) is 18", but that is just my opinion
