looks are one thing, handling and control is another. I lost control of that 70 Cutlass yes cause i went too fast around the curve but partly also cause 14 inch tires suck when it comes to traction. The smaller the tire the less contact it has with the ground. Taller tires have a larger patch of rubber on the ground. They also don't hit the potholes as hard.

Main reason i went with 15 inch steel cop rims was price and strength. I agree there are better things to buy then fancy 17--18 inch wheels but if cost wasn't a problem my 15 inchers would be gone...and nope, i would not buy a newer car or a newer engine, wheels/tires yes
