Were moving to a new house with a 3 car garage and Id like to either paint or tile the floor. What would be easier to keep clean??? A tile floor or a epoxy paint floor??
Also, what would have a better wear factor??

Mullianx95 had this link posted in this thread. He also has a video with Sam Memmoleo showing how to lay it down.

I would think spills would eventually get under tile and make it lift. I would and AM gonna go with some kinda coating when I do mine.

If you epoxy paint it,Sherwin Williams Tile-Clad HS is the best industrial floor epoxy paint. It is a 2 part epoxy...A and B.
You can get it tinted any color also...I just went for slate gray.
The homer depots Behr epoxy is not that good, bubbles up and wears after a year.
My shop with alot of traffic looks great. It has been six months and I got 9 1/2 years to go.It last over ten years.
Is your home new or new to you?
I prepped my floor with a floor sander, water and 80 grit paper.
I had tile glue in one area and hired a man with a diamond grinder to do that area.
If I where to do it again,I would have hire that man to diamond grind my whole shop 3000 sq feet.
10 gallons of A AND 10 gallons of b...about $55/gallon...Buying in 5 gallon bucket saved some money.
If it is new concrete and cured over 30 days and it bare without a sealer you are good to go.But if it is an older slab and stained...It is all in the prep work.
DO NOT ACID ETCH YOUR CONCRETE.IT IS THE WRONG WAY TO DO IT.
Here is a link to Moving my Business.New location Build,it has some info about my floor. This epoxy is not a water based and has strong fumes for a few days.It is an industrial epoxy and it needs 2 coats but it is the best stuff I ever used.

I have spilled gasoline, oil, antifreeze and it mops right up and shines easily.
Of course,if you left gasoline on to long it will start breaking it down. With 2 coats I got about 4 mil cover over the concrete.

Thanks for the info guys. It is not a new house, just new to me. Il be going over again this week and Ill take a good look again to the floor and see what it looks like.

Nice new garage/shop!!!!!

I've got a 2 car garage , one side is tiled in black and white squares the other side is my " car workin on side". Smooth concrete

coated my new floor with quikcrete expoy system cleans up good fairly durable. use 3/8 plywood under my jackstands.

epoxy floor no doubt i love mine had it done few years ago its worth it i just did the pro rustolem kit

My girlfriend just had a new garage built. We painted the floor with a Rust-oleum epoxy floor kit. I followed the instructions to the letter and it came out perfect.

Like other guys said in this post it is all in the preparation of the floor with these new epoxy's flooring kits that are out they hold up very well if you tile you have to be real careful because they are sometimes to slick even when not wet,we remodeled our sign shop at our Public Works Facility a few years back and we bought about 8 of the kits from Home Depot did all the prep work and 4 to 5 years later the floor still looks great. Good luck in your decision and I am no flooring expert these are just my opinion's.:glasses7:
