Tulsa, Oklahoma June 15th!!!

it will be interesting to see what kind of shape its in when they uncap it.

I will be there, only 20 minutes away for me. I can't wait to see if the car survived. I have heard that there is several money offers from overseas.

I know one thing is for certain, the 10 Gallons of Gasoline they put down there with the car has either leaked out of the container or turned into a mucky ball of goo.

Could probably get some pretty good bets going on what they will find when they pull it out and if it will run without too many major repairs.

I would like to be there too. Thank's for the up date.
I have never herd of it myself.

northeast Arkansas I am lookin for an A bodie roller
or good price 4 dr in our area. Thank's

someone please post some pics when the unveiling is over.i am very eager to see the condition of the car after 50 years.going to be a neat experience.i have never heard of such a thing.pretty cool

3 FOOT of water found in vault! Several water lines on the vault walls. They removed the cover of the vault today. The car has not been unwrapped yet, it was wrapped in 3 types of materials, in an event of water. It will not be lifted out of the vault until Friday. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Thats too bad, was hoping it would be found in prestine condition, with 3' of water I highly doubt anything they would have had the car coated in would have protected it., bummer...my only hope that the report of water in the vault is a stunt to get more attention to the unveiling this Friday.

For all those interested, here is link to a BOAT LOAD of photos taken of the uncapping of the capsule with the water and the car sitting in the hole, its going to be interesting whats underneath when they pull the cover off.

I worked in a cemetery for 5 years and had to do a few extractions. I never saw a concrete vault that was pulled up that did not have water in it, plastic lined or not. As much as I had hoped they would find it dry I had my doubts and by the looks of the water marks on the wall that thing had been full at least once. Lets just hope it doesn't break in half when they try to crane it out.

That is too bad! I was really hoping it would be in great shape. I remember my dad talking about this car 15 years ago. He wanted to go to the unvailing in his 1959 Plymouth but couldn't get time off from work. I am still very curious to see the car, even if it is destroyed! All the Mopar magizines will be there so I would imagine it will be the main story in up coming issues. Cross your fingers!

Its not buried. It is sealed in a vault. Tecnolgy is leaps & bounds ahead of the Belvedere.
They stored it in a military container. When it gets unleased, someone will get a brand new car.
