Power steering too touchy

We just did this; 69 Charger, 440; powering steering way too touchy. Read up on-line.

Saginaw pump. Pulled the valve out the back, where the pressure line attaches, unscrewed it, and unscrewed the valve assembly. Now, that 7/16" nut takes an impact to get off. We had to hand-make a .061 shim to fit it.
50% better, just needs another .051 shim.

What a better handling car it is. Got this off a chebby site. lol.
We thought we would just go grab some pumps from the junkyard, but it was raining for days, thought we would just get one from parts store for$30, but it had no shims; guess they adjusted at factory, some don't need them, but what a better car to drive.
