The " **** or get off the pot" association thread

This is always a interesting topic of discussion where there are no winners or looser's in the end. The bottom line is deciding whether a car is too far gone to restore and that is in the eye of the owner. At least if you part them out someone will get use out of the pieces instead of the whole car. I had a buddy that started a 6 Pack Challenger resto before repop sheet metal was available. He found a solid parts car and was just about to cut the floor out of it when he decided it was too good of a car to part out. He ended up building the parts car to help finance the 6 Pack build. The parts car ended up in Collectors Guide. I found my old 73 Challenger a few months ago and decided it was too far gone for me to restore. Could it be done, sure. It would cost $30,000+ to do it and those cars don't bring much more than that done. If the guy buys cars, offers them for sale whole and then parts them out when they don't sell (and can make a buck doing it) so be it. If you're in the market for a 340 Duster or parts he seems to be the guy to go to for what you want or need. tmm
