904 vs 727?

I have seen a couple folks pull the heavy 727 out for a strong built 904, back in the late 1990'es the worlds fastest door slam'er had a 904 trans in it and ran under 10 seconds on the Memphis Motor sports 1/4 mile track in a 71 dart I believe
My choice would be a 904, lighter and as strong for these light race cars JMO.
