My 72 Dart... Finishing the Mechanical:

Sorry I have not posted for a while... been busy with getting the car ready, finding parts, and losing the wife of 25 years (in the immortal words of Dr. Martin Luther King: "free at last"):

So I am finally starting on Phase II of the 1972 Dart I inherited. Phase I was to get the suspension and drive train in running order after the car sat in a barn/shed for 13 years ([[ame="http://www.flickr.com/photos/7862986@N05/sets/72157624890292769/"]1972 Dodge Dart project - this time with Joseph - a set on Flickr[/ame]). That being done (Many thanks to Tony at Tony's MOPAR Parts in Delaware) it is now ready to finish up the interior. I am temporarily putting in a 60% dash pad from a 73 Duster I parted out and getting ready to ship the radio off to Electro-Tech (http://www.turnswitch.com) to have it modernized and iPod ready. Already bought the speakers. Replaced the dash vents (got the paint from Herb's in Delaware as well), the A/C switch and fan switch (NOS compliments of Tony) and replaced the steering wheel.

The original dash pad is a mess, but I found a place to have it "rebuilt" (http://www.justdashes.com) and am considering sending it off to them.

It has been a driver the whole time I have worked on it (butt ugly driver, but a driver). So that is what is new on "Planet Crackpot"... see y'all in the funny papers after the body work and new vinyl top is done and Phase II - rebuilding the engine and then final paint.
