Third, my 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Drag Car
I have always loved 2nd Generation fastback Cudas! I looked for three years studing the market to buy one. I wanted to go drag racing, and wanted a 2nd gen Cuda. I bought this car from the Technical Editor of Mopar Muscle magazine, Dave Young. Dave built the car as a project for the magazine back in 2006/2007. The project premise was that you could still build a fast, reliable, and consistant drag car for less than $10K if you were willing to do most of the work yourself. The car was called the B3 (Barracuda, Bracket Racer, Budget). After it was completed he taught his wife to drag race in it (and she won many races in it).
The original car had a 451 cubic inch 400 motor in it. After a couple years racing it, Dave replaced it with the 500 cubic in 440 it has in it now. He also upgraded the brakes, tube K member front end, added Caltrac mon spring & traction bars, and MSD 7 system with a pro cube. He also put a NOS system on but it has never been used. The motor makes over 750 hp, the car weighs 2850 without driver, and should get deep in the 9's once I get my NHRA
