The 70 Duster......
i hate to say this... but if it was me i'd bite the bullet and pull out. get all the pieces back on, take it to storage until you can find another place that has room.
we have one place locally that does resto work. from their website they looked like a big operation. i stopped by to check it out. it's a one man shop, and he has two guys that help him on thursday and friday (they have other jobs, they come there for part time work)
we had a nice long talk. he had an olds 442 on the lift that looks better than the day it was made. he's a perfectionist. i asked him about doing my car,... not a chance. he said he takes about 1 year per car. they take it apart, send the inner body out to get sand blasted. when it comes back they inspect and find every pinhole. they weld in metal, using donor cars if necessary. he does a lot of mercury cougars, those are his specialty, and he said they always have inner rust and need a donor car. so anyways, my car, not a chance... he has 13 cars lined up and since they take a year each... LOL he told me that the olds 442 on the lift (almost done, engine was in it was all painted, interior was done he was dong the trim) had over $80,000 tied up into it. it's a work of love
so really, i dont think that guy will find time for your car. it's probably not a good way to introduce myself telling you this. but if you think about it, down deep inside, you probably already know it wont get done where it sits. if it was local to you, it might be different. you could go over once a week and "help out" or something and at least you would be on his mind.
i dont think suing him would help. or whipping his butt lol. or yelling. i think your best bet is to just pull out as gracefully as possible. again this is only my opinion.
