Small block in a PT cruiser

The one I saw at the nats with a 440 and dual quads looked like it was factory built,really clean installation.The engine bay looks big enough to support a small block pretty easily but I was wondering what they do about the steering rack which sits real high right behind the engine which would really be a squeeze to get a transmission over the top of. Maybe they remount it under the crossmember. I would love to talk to one of these guys.The one with the 440 ran the stock front suspension.
