Greatest "I found a car" story you have

I'll give you guys a car I found and didnt buy story. About 1979 a buddy of mine told me about a 1 owner Hemi Roadrunner that was for sale.I went up to check it out and it was a 426-4 speed car with bench seat and Dana,like a charcoal (dark silver) color with black interior. The guy was asking $1000 and the only problem was that he had gotten it loose and slid into a telephone pole so the passenger side quarter was destroyed but other than that it was a 28000 mile original. I looked it over real good and told the guy I would call him the next day.When I got home I started calling around about quarter panels and the only one I could find(new) was in Wyoming and they wanted a grand for it. So I'm looking through Hemmings motor news and their were a ton of hemi cars for sale under $3000 and in particular there was one 1966 Hemi Charger that had been in a museum since it was new and had 425 miles on it for $3600. I just couldnt justify the cost so I didnt buy it.
