Good on ya Mike  I quit a long time ago and sure don't regret it. :D

Good for you Mike. Glad to hear you kicked the habit. tmm

Keep going Mike you're doing great working on 14 years myself

Been on and off.. Unfortunately on at the moment. Good job Mike!

Grant

One thing that I have found out about quitting is my mind stays fidgety most the time, So I do some of the things I put off Grant, I am sure you know what I mean.
Putting my mind on those little things I tend to look over or forget about..

Like this little Plymouth key ring I made and took the time to have another set of keys made and put in the lock Box safe :D
I get sleepy and want to eat also :blob: :D My pillow is wet every other morning.

Just remember Mike, the urge to have a smoke will go away whether you have one or not!

I catch myself looking in ashtrays and firing one up:eek:ops: just to have to go brush my teeth and hit the mouth wash Mike, You are right, the erg hits but it is always short lived now

Even as I enjoy a hot bowl of chilly and finish it off with one of these watered down frosted mug lights  Staying the course Mike, I will probably fall asleep now :eek:ops: :D

My wife quit Mike. Smoke free for 7yrs.
Heres how she did it.
1. You have to want to do it.
2.From the doctor....Welbutrin (sp?) and a patch.
The welbutrin keeps you from freaking out, and the patch weans you off nicotine.
Drink alot of water, and sleep alot. Cant smoke when your sleeping. Lol
Eventually that craving will go away... !!!!!!
Not only that, think of all the $ you will save Mike......
JD

Good for you Mike!! I started back up, but getting close to the quitting point again. Someone...I think Tony F told me that when you get the urge, take in a deep breath as much as you can and hold it for as long as you can.....dunno if he was wanting me to pass out or what..LOL, but it does work. Hey..by the way is that an Aloe Vera plant?? And when its "ready" do you drink it??

It's EASY to quit. Heck, I did it DOZENS of times!

Congrats, it gets easier each day. Pretty soon the urge to smoke fades and the "I can breathe" feeling gets stronger. Just be careful not to substitute snacking for smoking. Ask me how I know... (14 years, 11 days tobacco free and counting).

I quite smoking back in 1983. besides the family, it's probably the best hing I've ever done for myself.

It's not easy, but it's absolutely worth it. Keep it up Mike, and the rest of you guys. You're gonna love it when you're done.

Good for you memike hang in there you will only thank yourself later
as for me i have a 10 inch scar in the middle of my chest that finally got me to quit.....

Thats a good life change. I never knew you can eat that stuff. Well taking Levothyroxin every day for the rest of my life aint that bad.

Good for you I quit about 23 years ago and even to this day still get urge when you have a beer and around people smoking but passes quick anymore. Best thing I ever did.

Is that Aloe Vera? .99 cent store sells Aloe drinks in little square bottles, like a pomegranate flavored water with jelly bits in it, pretty good! Im on Day 17 of no Diet Coke myself, raging headaches but they should die down ANY FREAKIN DAY now...! I still have 1 cup coffee in the morning so its not the caffiene that Im off...Im pullin for you. Dad quit, so did his golf game...Wife quit when we planned a family, hasnt looked back..11 years.

Way to go Mike! You can do it. It has been just over 3 months for me. Yes it get's easier each day. I still think about it, but don't want one. I'm with you man!
