Pulleys don't line up
Are you talking about washers for each of the six bolts between the pulley face and the balancer forward side?
Yup, get a set of washers and in your case look through them and try to separate out 6 with the same thickness (my crazy Chevy pulley only has 3 bolts, makes this a little easier). Then, put your bolts through the holes on the pulley and place the washer on the back side of the pulley (between the damper and the pulley); note, you might need longer bolts if youre moving the pulley out much. Keep adding washers until it looks right by simply standing directly over the top of the water pump and look down. When it looks right, throw on the belt and start her up. Check to see if it looks out of line at idle
if good, give it some gas and pray that the belt stays on. This is the poor mans way to go
but hey, it works!
My 67 has a built 360 w/ eddy heads, JE pistons, MP 509 cam, RPM airgap, 750dp, 150-180 shot of juice (depending on the day), 727, 8 ¾ w/ 4:10s, Moser 35 spline axels, spool, 4 wheel disc from SSBC, mini tubbed on Hoosier QTP 28x11.5. She runs low 11 teens @ Bandimere Speedway (5800 feet above sea level). The day this picture was shot she was running 11.14 @ 122 mph and the density altitude was over 9,000 feet!!! It was pretty hot.
