I am car less!
Wow, feels weird to not have a project car around. Sold my Duster and it was picked up today so my garage is a project car void.
I am looking for a new ride. I have it narrowed down - '69 Dart, ( I like the 'Custom' style with the belt line trim, green is alright too) '70-71 Duster or possibly a Demon. Not a big fan of the '72 marker light setup but I like the grille better. Always had a place in my heart for Valiants but not over the others I mentioned.
It actually has taken a long time for me to figure out exactly what I want. That happened mostly by discovering what I don't like. I am also in a better place in life. I am in a position to buy, I have a well lit shop at my house and my skills have advanced a great deal since I became a tech at a dealer.
My plan is to buy the best car I can. I won't reveal how much I have to spend but I don't plan on buying a cheap body. My hope is to buy a solid car that I can have fun driving while I build it up. If I can find one built already in my price range, I might take a look.
I've bought and sold many vehicles over the years, almost all of them purchased impulsively. I would take them apart, lose interest then sell at a loss. My goal this time is to be relatively certain I am making the right purchase.
As a side note, I need to finish my garage. I sheetrocked and painted it last year but stopped there. I bought the Duster and parked it inside next to the Dart. Suddenly there was no room to do anything and neither car ran. My tools and equipment were disorganized and everywhere, to the point of tripping over stuff. It was not a happy place. Though I don't plan on setting any hard/fast rules for myself, I would like to get things straight and ready so when the next project arrives I will have a working shop. Gotta get my compressor going, tools put away and organized, shelving bought, cabinets hung, tables finished etc.
I am in a great place right now. Looking forward to securing my next a body street machine.
