1969 340 Shortblock...unusual!
I hope you cant be serious. The data plate on the side of the block is stamped w a sequence # that makes it obvious this engine is out of a 69 CAR. And the factory did not use fel pro gaskets. Its pretty obvious to me that someone freshened the engine @ some point. Anyone else come to the same conclusion? Brass freeze plugs, wrong color paint, fel pro gaskets, re balanced assembly, melt tags. Industrial 340..... 340s have no torque, highly unlikely they would put them in equipment. I have heard of early 70s marine 340s, but have never seen one. Date and data plate indicate that its def. not marine.
