In 1992 I AVERAGED 158 MPH in a '72 Roadrunner between Conyers GA and Augusta Ga on I20. all stock suspension, steel belted front tires, and Good Year PolyGlass on the rear. I should be dead. lol David
nothing like cooking along at break neck speed for miles and miles.
Best I did was 125 to 145 for about 11 miles in the back woods highway.
I did it every morning on the way to work for several years. I did it for therapy and proper mental alignment with the world.
Stock 78 monte carlo suspension with a 462 ci olds connected to .229 rear end.
Finally one day in the middle of the night, my driveshaft exploded and my transmission disappeared. I blame most of that on aliens and a small portion of it on an imbalanced driveshaft. All was left was a small piece of tranny bell housing hanging on the engine. We coasted to a stop and had to get a lift home from my friend I had passed several minutes prior.
