Have any of you guys used/are using it can you give me some opinions?
I've got the universal B&M Pro Stick Gate Shifter and I've heard the Cheetah was better and was thinking about a swap. Thanks in advance!

Its the only aftermarket auto shifter Ive used that I like.

It is a goof proof design. Turbo Action does not make one for the trans I will be using but luckily there is another company that makes one with the same gate/reverse lock out, it is a Winters Sidewinder Shifter. I have never liked ratchet shifters after the one in an old Lemans I had gave me several problems. To me they just feel cheap....patiently waiting for the same few folks that always voice there hateful opinons on the Cheetah Shifter....

The B&M on I have is a pain, I've always got to readjust it, and the last time someone drove it(other then myself) they neutral dropped it four times in a row, as they said and I quote "727 auto's have a fourth gear" even after I told him it was just a 3-speed. And this was my mechanic at the time that said/did it! Last time I let anyone but myself drive my car.

And there is just a "cheapness" feel/look about the shifter

never have had a gate type shifter but have driven a couple... kinda weird...

i have a Hurst Pro-matic II in my dart and all our builds and it is great... its simple, its easy to get from N to reverse in a parking lot setting... good solid gates as well...

I was talking about the B&M I have, it has the "cheapness" to it(JUST my opinion). I really want the Cheetah, but the Hurst looks good too! Can it be used on a forward pattern 727?

best aftermarket shifter i have ever used. any future project will get that shifter.

very smooth operation, easy install and the cable runs around the rear of the trans away from all the hot exhaust.. awesome shifter...

the shifter can be used on either... the gates are the same...

There are 2 part numbers, one of them is reverse pattern ONLY
the other is forward, or reverse #70001B
I happen to be looking at shifters now, and will probably go with the Cheetah.

The cheetah works with everything, and it never screws up, never misses , doesn't get stuck/jam have to be muscled...

Been using them ever since i tried them in 1985. . . all the rest are junk compared to the scs, ever car or truck i have has the cheetah.

Anyone ever install one in a factory console?

I have seen them installed in a console. The top rounded section sitting flush on the flat console top. It looked pretty good. One of these days I'm going to try my hand at making up a console to mount mine in like that.
If there is a fault to the Cheatah it is that the shift lever is what it is, you can not make it taller or shorter if needed or change it to something that looks more "original style" , etc.

In my books there is no other shifter made out there. It has a large shift cable which never binds up like those crappy little B&M cables, it shifts very smooth, works with any valve body, regular or manual, forward or reverse. You can bang the hell out of it and it will never brake. Thats my 2cents.:prayer:

Thanks for all the advice, it's much appriciated. I will be getting the Cheetah, once I get enough cash to buy a new one. I know this isn't the for sale section, but does anyone here have a spare lying around, that they would sell?
