What Headers Needed?

you don't have to take the engine out. you only have to deal with the centerlink, with a pickle fork, it took me 2 minutes to pop it loose.the starter needs to be put into position with the header, and you need a short PH43 filter or equivalent. to make it easier , you can take the bolt out of the driver side motor mount and lift the engine up a couple inches. without the oil filter on, the passenger side slides right into position. it is not as hard as people make it out to be. if you get after the torsion bars a bit , they wont scrape . just a note , i have had my junk *** long tube hooker headers on my 318 for close to a year now, i drive the car every day, they don't scrape, they don't leak, they don't burn plug wires, and the paint has yet to burn off, and the bottom tubes look just as new as the day i got them for 179.00 to the door.

I agree, I hear all the time that cheap headers scrape, burn wires etc. I have yet to experience it. They are a bit of a chore to put on, but nothing you can't do in a day. I bought the Summit headers for my car for less than 150.00 to the door. The driver side header will take a little longer than the passenger side to install.

If you go that route, be sure to use good gaskets such as Remflex.
