Also, no reason why you can't carb a magnum motor. I recommed the Crosswinds Air Gap intake (you can use it on either a Magnum or LA). If you run an electric fuel pump, you don't have to change timing cover and buy a fuel pump eccentric button for the end of the cam so that will save some hassle.
I'm currently putting a 360 Magnum in my Scamp from a Dakota R/T.
I chose to run the serpentine belt set up, electric fuel pump. Only thing I had to change was oil pan & pick up to center sump and the intake. Makes it alot easier. No messing with changing entire water pump and the crank pulley to V Belt. Plus the alternator puts out alot more juice. One thing to note: there is a difference between a 360 & a 318 oil pan when you go to buy one.
