Welcome. I have a 65 Dart 273 that I am almost ready to start driving after ~3 years and bought a 64 Valiant slant six a few months ago. Most people go the other way - installing manual steering so that headers will work with a V-8. Thus, you can get power steering parts easy and cheap. I have extras in my shed.

If you haven't switched to electronic ignition yet, that is easy and a big bang for a small buck and will improve mileage and make starting easier. Many suggest the GM HEI, as I did. SlantSixDan has a post with photos on installing the 4-pin type. I used the 8-pin type in my Valiant. Also, check out www.slantsix.org.

Hi Bill!
I have a freind owing a carworkshop and he will provide my Dart with a electronic ignition system this spring. One of the problems is the fact that he broke his leg for the second time. Instead of a real doctor feb.2011 he was treated by an bicycle repairman, so he must visit the hospital once again. And he turns 74 this year. Well, he and me have put some new stuff into the engine and gearbox and put some new bearings and sealings in the rear. I took the Dart for a tour in southern Sweden and had my camping trailer hooked on. More than 1000 miles. The Dart went well intill a hose connected to the cooler ( bottom ) said god bye. This happend just before I arrived at my home. One of the problem was to get proper hoses for The Dart. Most hoses are measured in m.m. A possibility was to buy a very expensiv host made of silicon. Cost 85 $ a piece. I was lucky though, I found a perfect hose in swap market 15 miles from my home. Paid 7 $. Another problem was that the exhaust manifold cracked because the overheated engine. No chance to find a manifold in Sweden. The car is to old they said to me. **** 'em. Well the Rock auto helped me out. No problem. Cost me 550 $ inkl. custom fee. If one of the Swedish dealers had helped me out they asked fore another 200 $. They want to be rich, but not on my expense, thank you! This summer I would like to drive my Dart to a swapmeet at an old airfield not far from Stockholm, the capitol of Sweden. It's the biggest swapmeet of the year in Sweden for oldtimers like us, and our cars. :coffee2:
Keep rolling.
Bert.
