New engine problem, need help !!!

:? Just finished a 318 rebuild (complete rebuild) about 2 weeks ago. Still have only ran about 10 miles, no speedo yet. It seems to be running OK.

Today I pulled the plugs except 5 and 7 because of the darn Headman headers, I'll need a special tool for those. #6 seems to be wet and colored different than the others. I think it may be coolant. I had the machine shop check the head before the head job.

I have built several engines over the years but never a Mopar small block. Am I missing something or do I just have to pull the head. I will do a compression check before doing anything. Could the valve guide be messed up leaking oil? Humm.

Any suggestions would greatly appreciated.

Pull your dipstick and check for coolant there. Does it look like a milkshake? If so, that's a coolant leak and you need to pull the head(s).
You said the plug looked wet but what did it smell like? Oil, Gas, Coolant?
You can also start the engine cold and remove the rad cap and watch for bubbles as the engine warms up, this would indicate a leak (head gasket, crack, etc...)
Is there oil in the coolant?

check the simple things first, you said it seemed to be running ok, you need to seet the rings, keep an eye on the temp and take it on the road, get some running time on it, DO NOT LET IT IDLE FOR LONG PERIODS . i've seen people do this, it is not good on a fresh rebuid.

I have those dam headers too. What I did was buy a spark plug socket that had a hex end on it than you can get a wrench on it real easy and zip them right out.
