big block pro comp heads

Getting back to the Pro-Comp heads. Has anyone here used them? I've been thinking about using these on my 499 buil
these heads can make big power dont buy the assembled ones use good valves and springs matched to your cam might need some machining to enlarge push rod holes for clearence and like any other heads porting makes power my machinist said the castings looked real nice but buy the time im done with machining and parts im right up there with the price of the edelbrock victor head

The Bare Edel Victors come with the same machine work required as a bare set of ProComp Victors...... I know its still LOTS cheaper... I use these heads myself! I LOVE them!
I use the MP .590 cam and EDM oil thru lifters. Custom pushrod lengths are required for this setup too.
My build is very similar to yours,,, maybee more comp, but that's about it.
My build is this:
440 .030" bored
Steel Crank
H-Beam Rods
Main stud girdle
.140" domed forged pistons
<BALANCED ROTATING ASSY>

.040" thickness head gaskets
Victor procomp version Heads
1.6 ratio rockers
EDM oil through lifters
Custom length pushrods
MP .590" lift @ 1.5 .6293" @ 1.6
Double roller timing set
Edel Victor Intake
Holley 4150 850cfm DP carb "TO SMALL!"
8qt oil pan
sheet metal aluminum valve covers

With this said,,, I can tell you that you'll want to go right into a 4500 1050cfm Holley and use the 4150 to 4500 adapter. This gives you the CFM it WILL want, and also takes place of the 1" spacer the big blocks like with Victor Heads.
