I really don't think it's about price but people's ethics. Try giving something away for FREE on craigslist and you will meet the scum of the Earth. Half won't show up and the ones who do want you to wrap it in a gold ribbon for them. I've been de-cluttering all of our old stuff lately and I usually list stuff at ridiculous prices to get it out the door. If something is worth $100 I'd list it for $20, anything under $50 was free. Seems simple enough, but still have 5 flakes before anyone shows up, and then they still try to haggle and play games. I was selling a working Craftsman Lawn Mower for $5 and a guy showed up and wanted me to pay HIM $20 to "Haul it".
Everything now goes in the trash or the Goodwill.
