This may be a matter of perception. When I was in high school (coming of age time for car appreciation for most of us), the cars everyone was interested in was late '60s - early '70s. I graduated in '93, so that is a 20 to 25 year spread. Think about what is 20 to 25 years old right now. With the increases in fuel, insurance, and other factors, not every kid is going to want to plunk down for a Fox, F or G body when he can get a 25mpg car with similar acceleration and better handling. Now why so many kids intentionally choosing 4dr cars, I can't understand. But I think the only thing that really changed here is the cars.
