A former neighbor made an attempt at flipping a few cars. One was a 65k mile all original ss El Camino, what ever year they had a 396 in them. This thing had all the original documents with it, from the original owner. He got it for a smoking deal. When all was said & done he lost a grand on it. He bought a 67 Lemans from a guy for $1900, I offered to buy it from him for $2100, figuring he would at least make his fuel costs back. He said no, it was 4k or nothing. Wonder where the car is going now that he lost his house......
My fab guy and I had a discussion once about the value of these cars, and to him they are worth what ever you can get at the scrap yard, unless of course it is a #'s car. Then he said maybe double it.....but he is burnt out form building cars for 25 years or so....
