Mowing with child on your lap

My 2 1/2 year old grandson rides on my zero turn with me, ONLY, when the deck is not engaged. I ran too many calls for children injured from riding on or operating a mower at too young of an age.

I do however believe some children are more acclimated to it than others. The one thing that I had to stress to my kids was not to run up to me when I was mowing, as they had a very bad habit of doing. I tried to explain to them that they could slip and slide a foot right under the deck.

Common sense and safety should dictate each and every scenario.
