Riviting a fiberglass hood?

If the hood is a race weight hood (i.e.; light weight), I would use the hood pins riveted with 8/32 washers on the bottom side. If it's a standard fiberglass hood, I'd use the light weight hood springs and hinge it like a stock hood with pins in the front. The race weight hood will crack and break if you try to hinge it, but the standard weight hood will work just fine with hinges. As stated above, a lift off hood is a PITA especially if you are by yourself and there is a stiff breeze blowing. JMO
