Anyone interested in a Acme tach Bracket ?
Regular price is $55, Group buy price is $45.

These let you mount yout tach to the dash without drilling holes.
We'll need to order atleast 10 to get the group buy price.

I have one on my car and I can tell you first hand that my Autometer tach bounces up & down pretty bad. I'm fabricating a secondary bracket that will wrap around the front of the dash & tuck into the top edge of the dashbaord to hold it still. I also had to TIG weld the mounting sleeve forward so the tach would clear the windshield. and it is also pulling my dash pad up a bit where it slides under. I bought mine from someone on MoParts for $30 2 yrs. ago. I have no idea if it was for an A,B, or E body.... Naturally I was told it would fit my car. Still better than screwing the bracketing into the dash, but not perfect..... :eye:

Just my .02

I figured the tach would bounce all over the place. I like the idea but theres no way that things gonna hold a monster tach still.

wish i would have known about it a little sooner. i bought one a couple months ago. like FASTBACK340 said it does bounce around. i haven't had time or the weather to go out and mess with it ..

If it's nice this weekend I had planned on tearing down the motor all the way. While I'm there I'll try & come up with a slick aux. bracket that doesn't attach anywhere noticable to the dash that will hold the tach down.

Details to follow :salut:

Just out of curiousity, why not go down to a local shop that has a sheetmetal break and get one made? I didn't know that these were actually made and sold retail, I have done several over the years for friends. Also, if you do the bend right and use the right gauge aluminium, they shouldn't bounce around.

Got one on my car with a 5'' Phantom tach that has 2 housing nuts on the back that I siliconed a rubber cover over and let it rest on the windshield hasn`t moved yet.

Hey guys, I got something that is a hell of a lot better in my Duster and would be happy to make some up if there is enough intrest in them. I will post pics later when I get home. Only thing is it gets bolted into where the drivers side defroster vent is, so if you need the defroster it won't work. Its basically a thick aluminum plate that I welded an arm onto that fits into the opening and uses the factory bolt holes. No ugly sheetmetal bracket. The tach sits nicely over the dash pad just to the right of the steering wheel. You can leave it raw aluminum, polish it or paint it the interior color so it is a little less noticeable. Its much cooler than some flimsy sheet metal stuffed under your dash pad and will never rub against the pad possibly damaging it.

Brett, I just use a small rubber bumper from a Harley kick stand that sits under the arm that rests on the dash to eliminate any vibrations.

Cool I dlike to see that.

I actually made my own but its less then pretty looking. While I was making it I was looking at the Vent and thinking of doing the same thing.

Did you get the car back together ?

Adam, the top end is still in pieces on the bench. Everything is painted and pretty, waiting for installation. Too damn cold in the garage to deal with it now. Just lost interest after the fall hit. I'll post some mock up pics of the freshened mill later as well. Man, I can't wait for spring to see how it's gonna run with all the new goodies!

I cant wait either. I have a bunch of stuff to do to mine.

If you need a hand putting back together let me know.

I'm not sure on pricing. I can check into what it would cost to produce a bunch of them. Lots of time spent grinding the metal to shape, I am sure a macine shop could cnc the parts easier and quicker than I could.

If you want to find out we can try to get a group buy on them. I can also put up a page on the site and link it to PayPal account for you so you can sell them threw the board.

I also have a photoshop job for you if you have the time.
