Update On Laysons Problem
I've never dealt with Laysons so can't post my good or bad experience. I do have a perspective to share so...
Lets say I'm Dave Layson. I have sample parts on hand, capital to invest, etc..., I sense a need for a-body console mounting brackets and shifter stand. I can produce and market them in a kit including a locating templete.
Now to produce 6 coppies costs me *** while producing 100 costs only xx. How in the heck do I determine how much demand their is for such an item and what Joe Customer is willing to pay for it ?!?!?!
Here is an idea , I'll place this item in my catalog and feel the market. First 2 orderers are SOL. Aint gonna happen.
I'll agree this is a somewhat shady way to do business but it works and there just aint a better way.
I'm not Dave Layson but I do have the formentioned item in development. I've made initial investments to produce 6 and will make it available Jan. 2008
Guess what.... my 7th customer will be SOL which sux too.
