Camshaft, Short Snout or Long...

How do I tell whether an aftermarket Magnum camshaft has a short snout or a long one? Can somebody give me a measurement? How much difference is there between the two types? Knowing the amount of difference in size BETWEEN the two won't help me now, as I don't have anything to compare to, but maybe somebody else needs to know.
