Ive been meaning to post this for a while now, also having been into pontiacs I got to know quite a bit about ultradyne cams and their original founder/designer Harold Brookshire.Anyway Harold went to holley for a while and designed the hydro voodoo cams for lunati-hes since moved on to a custom cam company. This was lifted from another forum and has alot of good info about the voodoo series right from Harold himself,if your like me and are a slut for cam knowledge/specs its a good read.http://www.chevelles.com/forums/printthread.php?t=18213 By the way it makes mention of the chryser cams being designed especially for the chrysler lifter.

Thanks for the info, good stuff.
I heard the Mopar cams from Voodoo were ground for the mopar lifter profile, but never saw it in writing, glad I finally got it confirmed.
I wonder if the difference in HP/TQ numbers comparing Mopar Voodoo cams to Mopar Comp cams would be a little higher since those tests were all done on Chevys, and the Mopar Voodoos take advantage of .904 lifter profile?

Good read...and i agree voodoo cams rock!! thats why i run one in my stroker i ran the .494/.513 last season, and stepped up to the .533/.552 this season, with great results..:thumbup:

Hey 340srule, How did you like the .494/.513?
My son was eye balling that cam for his 360 with around 9.5-9.8 to 1 compression, Air Gap, big holley, ported small valve J heads etc. Trying to get his Demon into the high 12's to fry some local Rice LOL
Also what valve springs did you run?
Sorry if I high jacked this thread.

Loved it!!! i run Edelbrocks with 2.02/1.60 valves that cam in my stroker ran 11.29 last season...

He he he he, gotta love it when the cam designer himself posts at a forum.

Harold is a semi regular poster on Speedtalk.com with the screen name "UDHarold". He's forgotten most of what I havent learned yet...lol.

He he he, I bet. But what he can not remember to say gets done on auto polit during the thinking and grinding sesion.

yeah. he's also pretty forthcoming with ideas and opinions on products. Sometimes you dont like the answers, but that doesnt mean they are wrong...lol.

Is cool to have a pioneer like Harold grinding modern cams and actually getting in the mix with fellow enthusiats, hes been doing it for years most notably for pontiacs.I was going to use a voodoo in my 340-(until I got a deal on a comp xe solid 282)-because I like the higher lift on their grinds with full ported heads-they have some great specs.I love having more options on modern design off the shelf grinds but depending on application it will still be hard to beat the good ole xe 274 with its moderate duration/lift for the avearge street build-if only I had enough engines for the cams I want to run!.

Good stuff - the voodoo might be a good choice for my 340.
Lead69 hows the duster going.

Eye of Bat, Wing of Snake and Lip of Chicken all the ingrediants to make a VooDoo Cam....jeeze give me a break, can't they come up with a name of distinction and back off all the Marvel comic book crap.

Avenger, VooDoo...what's next Kryponite rods?...wait, somebody beat them to it.

Next we'll have a "ET Slayer" Carburetor...oopps that's mine.

Article looks good to me I'll have to Superman to take a glance
