Do you run the shifter cable before or after the crossmember?

I'm installing a B&M Quicksilver shifter. I'm concerned about the shifter wire hole. After some measurements it looks like the hole for the cable will be just in front of the support for the crossmember. Meaning the wire will then have to pass the crossmember support and there will be a kink in the wire there because there is a ledge in the support.

I have mocked up the shifter were it felt comfortable for me, but it looks like I either have to move it more to the back or quite a bit forward to solve the crossmember issue.

How have you dellt with this?

Maybe I should add that the cable on the Quicksilver exits in front of the shifter.

Hmmmm.... When I installed mine I had none of those problems. My cable runs up through the trans tunnel in a loop back to the trans.

Hmm I'm uncertain if I make myself clear here. Language barrier :(
My shifter is placed so far back that the crossmember is in front of it. According to manual I should drill the exit hole 3" infront of the furthers forward mount hole for shifter. This makes the cable exit just before the crossmember support meaning it will have to be bent to clear crossmember support and then go forward in trans tunnel and loop to come back. Trying to explain best I can here :)

crossmember support = floor is thicker here and have a ledge

Ahhh, I see what you are saying. Maybe move it forward just enough so the cable clears the crossmember. Would it be in an uncomfortable position if you mount the shifter with the front edge just above the front edge of the crossmember?

No, I guess I can move it either forward or a little more to the back. Where I mocked it up just seems most comfy. I read it is important to have soft bends in the wire so I guess this needs to be considered while placing the shifter.

But long legged guys and gals must surely had this problem aswell?

And away from heat sources.

Yeah, thats not gonna be too easy with headers either. Thanks for the help!

I moved the shifter forward so it cleared everything. Think I got the cable routed nice and away from the headers also.

Not completely done yet but soon hopefully!
