MSD Blaster 2 with electronic ignition
Thanks 71 beater.
I have 2 spare stock coils & 2 control boxes always with us.. I put the Balster on just to do something nice & new for my wife. I don't want to open the brand new one we got exchanged for,and use it, as I am selling it as "new unopened" on Ebay at the moment.Had I bought it from Summit or Jegs, I would send it back for a credit. Our local store won't take returns only exchanges. We will loose money on this whole ordeal all around.
I really don't trust it, many say they are imported junk now anyway. As for testing again. We get 3 time trails, and we are racing for Summit points. My wife is tied for 3rd at the moment.Every good run counts.
As I mentioned, if it ain't broke don't fix it.We wasted 3 hours of dyno time ($125.00 hr.) chasing our butts, scratching our heads over this stupid coil issue. We were also wasting all of that time when could have been tunning. We should have only been there 1- 1 1/2 hrs max.
I had just rebuilt her 750 D.P., but switched back to her good 650 D.P. when the issue started. We never got the 750 tuned to the car completly as we left the 650 on it.I had to leave for a job, and it made me late as it was.
We now know the 750 is good because my buddy was struggling with his carb. We stuck our 750 on his car and it fixed his problem. He even went to the final and won Pro last sat. night!
It is hard to believe we got a bad coil right out of the box new, but after seeing Hypermites post I question that.
But thanks for all the input again, you guys are great.
