1970 v 2013: How the Darts Stack up

I pretty much burned out on this argument with the last 3 or 4 threads that floated around with it... heres my position one more time.. everyone can *****, and complain til their blue about ruining the Dart name.. Me.. I dont see it that way.. I just dont.. I am an individual, just like everyone else, and we all get to make choices.. I choose to like the new Dart.. sorry.. but I do.. I really dont care that others hate it.. nor should they really care that I like it.. but once again my reasoning is this.. when the Dart of the late 60's came about it was just transportation.. it was the cheapest car in the Dodge line.. barring the GTS's and the 340 cars, they were point A to point B machines.. Small, and compact (for the day) and fuel efficient (also for the day) .. HAD the Dart continued, uninterrupted since its inception, still following that formula, this is most likely where it would've ended up anyways.. The Dart of yester-year, was not some holy grail of car land.. my grandfather and my uncle (who had a 70 Swinger) still swear they were total junk.. and they're not the only ones I have heard that from.. They were cars.. I doubt Chrysler knew then that 40-some odd years later we'd feel this way about the old Darts, or be arguing about the new ones LOL ..

You say we would be better off without it? maybe.. but I for one am glad Chrysler products are still around (even if they have had to be helped back from the brink of extinction.. and really.. is it just because foreign companies have had to step in to save it thats the real thorn in the side? I mean if the people who ran it in the first place had done it right, i guess foreign companies wouldnt have had to try to rescue it in the first place.. )...

Again, this argument is, was, and apparently will always be more or less pointless.. some will like, some wont... some will support it, others wont, some will own and drive them, others will turn their noses and look away.. thats what makes us individuals.. me...Im probably gonna get a new Dart.. I will take my 69 Dart out and have fun, and keep history alive, and I will take the new Dart to work, and use it for what it was built for.. basic transportation..

That is all.. LOL

Sorry that a set of numbers set apart by 42 years bothers you....
