HVAC Feedback appreciated -

oklacarcollector---If you want to go to a website of a manufacturer and compare equipment GREAT--But DO NOT rely on ANY forum about so said product that has pissed off and pissed on people who went with the CHEAPEST price and paid the money never to have the contractor answer his phone again and then to complain on some forum about the product,When it was the installers fault,NEVER go with the cheapest price I repeat NEVER go with the cheapest price,Get three estimates,Check the contractor's background and references,You will find the most quality and honesty with the middle guy,Nowadays people are getting upwards of 8 to 10 estimates I will stay away from those people because they WILL go with the cheapest price.Remember furnaces are different,A/C systems are the same no matter who produces them,I have had just as many trane compressors fail as i have had any other manufacturer---Thanks Steve-- IT IS ALL IN THE INSTALL AND SET-UP I CAN'T SAY THAT ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again I don't see where anything on the net would be hurting you or any qualified installer that does a great job. I can see where it would hurt sloppy installers. When I search the net and I find a bunch of negative comments about a professional I am smart enough to stay away from them. My moto in life has always been "If it is good, it isn't cheap and if it is cheap, it isn't good." I do shop around but I will always evaluate the products as well as the installer. If I search out a product and I find numerous posts about the same problem on a given product in many different forums then I will stay away from that product. When I say by product I mean model number not th whole company.

Problems are something you will never find on the Company website. Example would be the Nissian V6 engines that have timing chain problems. The last time I looked they were on their third fix for the problem but this wasn't information wasn't on the Nissian website. It was verified by the shop foreman when the van went in for a timing chain at less than 60,000 miles. Without the forumns Nissian would have never paid for the chain because the vehicle was past the warranty in years but not in mileage. Nissian paid part of the claim after they intially denied it, because of the information found on the internet.
